Card Design Contest
Congratulations to the champions for this year! There were 36 cards entered for the contest!

4-H Poetry Contest
1. Poem must be the original work of the 4-H member. (Poems written by other people or from other sources cannot be considered and will be disqualified.)
2. Poems can be about any subject as long as it is family friendly.
3. Poems must have a title and be neatly printed or typed on 8.5”x11” paper. (Typed poems are preferred if time permits.)
4. Poem must contain your name, age, school, and grade.
5. Junior (age 9-13) poems should be 5-20 lines. Senior (age 14-18) poems should be 8-24 lines.
6. Two (2) junior poems and two (2) senior poems will advance to the State 4-H Written Communications Contest.
7. Elementary school teachers have the official guidelines.
8. Entry deadline: Friday, November 22, 2024.
4-H Country Ham Project will begin in January. Contracts will be mailed to those that have already signed up. Payment and contracts are due by November 22, 2024 by 3:00pm.
Requirements (or hams will be forfeited):
- Wash and apply cure in early January at Adair Co. Ex- tension Office (during daytime hours).
- Attend 2 more required days at ham facility in May/ June and August.
- Prepare and present a country ham speech on the required topic at KY State Fair on August 17.
- $70 non-refundable payment (even if hams are forfeited) payable to Russell Co. 4-H Council.
4-H Farm Club visited KC Farms on October 24 to learn about dairy cattle.
4-H Tabletop Farmers met on October 16. Each member created their own 12”x12” farm display. Their next meeting is November 13. They will work together to create a large farm display with their toys.

4-H Camp Corner

Cost: $335 (partial scholarships available)
4-H Horse Club
Call 270-866-4477 to register if you are interested in joining the 4-H Horse Club. This club will begin meeting in the winter/spring months.
4-H Written Communications Contest
