4-H Holiday Design Contest Results

Congratulations to the champions for this year!  There were over 120 cards entered for the contest!

 

4-H Country Ham Project will begin in January.  Youth get a chance to cure two country hams.  Spots are limited. 

Sign up by calling (270) 866-4477 by November 30.

Requirements (or hams will be forfeited)

1. Wash and apply cure on Jan. 16 at Adair Co. Extension Office (during daytime hours).

2. Attend 2 more required days at ham facility in May/June and August.

3. Prepare and present a country ham speech on the required topic at KY State Fair on August 17.

4. $60 non-refundable payment (even if hams are forfeited) payable to Russell Co. 4-H Council.

 

4-H Poetry Contest

1. Poem must be the original work of the 4-H member. (Poems written by other  people or from other sources cannot be considered and will be disqualified.)

2. Poems can be about any subject as long as it is family friendly.

3. Poems must have a title and be neatly printed or typed on 8.5”x11” paper. (Typed poems are preferred if time permits.)

4. Poem must contain your name, age, school, and grade.

5. Junior (age 9-13) poems should be 5-20 lines. Senior (age 14-18) poems should be 8-24 lines.

6. Two (2) junior poems and two (2) senior poems will advance to the State 4-H Written Communications Contest.

7. Elementary school teachers have the official guidelines.

8. Entry deadline:  Monday, November 21, 2022.

4-H Horse Club

The next meeting of the 4-H Horse Club is Monday, November 21 at 5:00pm at Diamond Ridge Stables.
